To care for the tomato plant for tomato paste Tie the bushes and tomato leaves to a cage or holder. This preserves the tomatoes. Install a cage or retainer when planting tomato seedlings. Do not wait more than 14 days. If you can, you can make your own tomato cages.

• The tomato cage must be at least 48 inches (1 m) high. If the plants become heavy, the cages may bend, and sometimes the cages may fall due to storms and strong summer winds. Therefore, by removing secondary leaves and stems, help the tomato plant to grow and prevent the above possible risks.

A plant holder (wood) should be at least 0.5 by 2 inches (1 by 5 cm) wide and 6 to 8 feet (1.5 to 2.5 meters) long. Insert the holders into the soil to a depth of about 12 to 24 inches (30 to 60 cm), and at least 2 inches (5 cm) around the plant. Attach the plant to the wood with loose, loose knots using fabric ribbons or thread and string. This will not suffocate the tomato plant, and will only hold the plant firmly. Retainers can be made of bamboo, lumber, electrical or iron pipes.

Water the tomato plants every 7 to 10 days. Do this after the first week of planting the seedlings. But in the first week of planting, water about 500 ml of lukewarm water per tomato plant every day. Drip irrigation is better than over-irrigation, which can increase fungal diseases.

Water tomatoes in the morning to prevent mold or fungal diseases.

• Reduce watering gradually after 10 days. Make sure tomatoes get 1 to 3 inches (2 to 8 cm) of water a week. Each plant needs about 2 gallons (7.5 liters) of water per week, about the end of the second week after transplanting the tomatoes.

Continue watering tomato plants until they are older and also when the weather is warmer. Do intense watering 2 to 3 times a week, about 1 gallon (3 to 4 liters) of water is needed each time. Make sure the soil is moist and not wet.

Apply mulch to the tomato planting bed. After a week or two of planting tomatoes, cover the area around the plants with mulches such as straw or hay. This helps control weeds and prevents soil moisture loss. The mulch should be about an inch (2.5 cm) thick and at least a 12-inch (about 30 cm) circle around the stem.

Choose a suitable fertilizer for planting tomatoes. If the soil is enriched with organic matter, tomatoes can grow very well and naturally. If you choose chemical fertilizers, consider vegetable fertilizers as well. Use half the recommended concentration of chemical fertilizer per gallon / liter (using the fertilizer packaging guide).

• Do not use grass fertilizer for tomatoes. The proportion of minerals in grass fertilizer is only for the growth of stems and leaves.

Although excessive fertilization may cause more tomatoes to grow, it makes them more susceptible to disease and insects.

Gently shake the columns or sticks and cages around the tomatoes. This increases fruit production and even the distribution of pollen. Do this once or twice a week for 5 seconds. Start at the beginning of flowering tomato plants.
